Start with the
thing that has been
bothering you.
Most calls begin with a symptom rather than a service line: a notice, a lender request, an offer on the table, or books that have been late since spring. That is a perfectly good place to start.
Tell us a little
about the business.

Something urgent?
If you are holding an IRS or Massachusetts DOR notice, call rather than email. Response deadlines are short and are rarely extended. We triage notices the same week they arrive.

most first calls.
If yours is not here, it is a good question to open the conversation with.
What does a first meeting cost?
Nothing. It runs about forty-five minutes and includes a partner and a senior manager. We would rather find out early that we are not the right fit than bill you for discovering it.
How quickly can you take on a new client?
Compliance-only work generally needs sixty days of lead time to onboard properly. Urgent matters, such as a notice, an examination or a deal in progress, are triaged the same week.
How are fees structured?
Annually, for a defined scope, agreed in writing before work begins. We do not bill hourly for questions, and we never take contingent or success-based fees.
Do you work with companies outside Massachusetts?
Yes. We file in twenty-one states in a typical year. Most clients are headquartered in New England, but the filing footprint is frequently much wider.
Can you both keep our books and audit them?
No. Independence rules prohibit it, and we will say so at the first meeting. Where you need both, we help you structure it properly rather than discovering the conflict later.
What if we are behind on filings?
That is a routine conversation, not an unusual one. We will quantify the exposure first, then choose between prospective registration and a voluntary disclosure that caps the look-back.
Pick up the phone.
It is usually faster.
Forty-five minutes with a partner and a senior manager, at no charge, before anyone mentions an engagement letter.
